13th District AIDS Council (DAC) Meeting conducted on 15-07-2025 at DHDC Hall, Bahawalnagar. The meeting started with Quran recitation and participant introduction.
District Health Authority and District health Department Bahawalnagar, and relevant district authorities officials and stakeholders took part in this important event. Manager District Coordination, Muhammad Imran Khan, explained the primary function of the DAC and shared that the DAC has been working as a facilitator for sharing lessons learned and activities on the ground regarding HIV/AIDS in Bahawalnagar. He further shared the progress and service delivery of the Nai Zindagi trust. He explained that the District AIDS Council is contributing to improving collaborations and coordination at district levels for the betterment of the HIV/AIDS treatment. Later he shared field related challenges & submitted requests to concerned departments regarding much-needed support to enhance the referral system between Nai Zindagi, District Health authorities & ART Center. Muhammad Imran emphasized DAC’s main function to enhance HIV/AIDS program initiatives, knowledge sharing, dissemination of information, and stakeholder collaboration. He also thanked the ART Team for their support and collective approach to serving People who inject drugs (PWID).
Dr. Shoukat (CEO of DHA, Bahawalnagar) assured the district health administration’s support for NZ activities under DC supervision and with police cooperation. He further emphasized strengthening referral mechanisms and ensured the engagement of relevant stakeholders. District health authority and |District Health Department emphasized to engage local organizations for broader collaboration. The meeting reinforced DAC’s important role in coordinating HIV/AIDS responses, with unanimous support for NZ’s initiatives and future collaborations.
