Nai Zindagi and Federation of Drug Demand Reduction (FDDR), a network of drug treatment and rehabilitation centers of Nepal, have agreed to a contract for the development of human rights based standards for delivering drug treatment services in close coordination with the concerned Government ministry/ies, member organizations of the FDDR and drug users groups in Nepal.

The first meeting for the formation of the Technical Working Group (TWG) was held in Lalitpur Disrtict, Nepal on 12 December 2014. The members of TWG would be responsible for drafting the standards of services. The meeting was well attended by representatives from civil society, drug user groups and human rights commission of Nepal.

This project is supported through Mainline Foundation and is part of the country work in Nepal that is financed through the Bridging the Gaps – health and rights for key populations programme.
