A three day consultation meeting was organised by UNAIDS, Geneva to explore opportunities for improving programs through real time data collection, analysis and program correction. The participants explored new avenues of innovation for HIV service scale up. They listed the potential focus and scope for real time monitoring, the technical and methodological tools and real time data analysis.
The practical issues and concerns were addressed and what will it take to roll out at scale. The NZ-MIS was showcased and explained in detail as an example of ‘real time monitoring’. The meeting was attended by experts, academia, UN partners, the GF, communities and service providers.
