The monitoring of program implementation at the district level is a regular feature of the Global Fund project. The monitoring and evaluation teams recently visited various CoPC+ sites of Punjab. The team visited the CoPC+ sites as well as various spots where service delivery takes place in order to carry out physical monitoring and verification of service delivery data being reported through NZ MIS.

The districts covered during the monitoring included Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalpur, Khanewal, Sahiwal, Muzaffargarh, DG Khan, Kasur, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Sargodha, Faisalabad and Lahore.

Each component of the program was reviewed including NSEP, social component, HIV testing and counselling and spouse program. The teams conducted interviews with clients to understand their perspective about the services and evaluate their knowledge about the safer practices to prevent HIV transmission. Any gaps identified in the services delivery were explained to the site staff to help them implement their services more effectively in future.
The visits were very helpful in assessing the quality of activities being conducted in the field and their impact on beneficiaries as well as in ensuring accountability, transparency and effectiveness of the program.
