Workshop on Evidence Based Programming, Monitoring & Evaluation, Islamabad
Nai Zindagi Trust organized a two-day workshop on Evidence Based Programing, Monitoring & Evaluation on 6th and 7th December 2017 at Islamabad. The participants included all the Site Managers from 30 CoPC+ sites across Pakistan, SR Project Managers and Provincial Coordinators from all the four provinces. The objective of this workshop was to refresh and instill the effective use of program data at all levels for improving both the quantitative and qualitative aspects of service delivery. Participants were given an overview of the historical background of data use and evidence based programing which has been a hallmark of Nai Zindagi over the last 25 years. This was followed by an extensive agenda of teaching and practical demonstrations of NZMIS data use at three stations namely NSEP (Needle Syringe Exchange Program), HTC (HIV Testing & Counseling) and Plus Component (ART link-up and Adherence Support). The three groups of participants after having covered all the stations, were given one assignment each whereby they were asked to extract and analyze NZMIS data and present the methodology and findings.
The second day of workshop involved presentations on different aspects of monitoring an HIV program and explanation of changes in indicators for the next three years approved grant. The monitoring checklist for Site Managers was revised through discussion and consensus as an output of the workshop. Standard Operation Procedures for HR, Basic Medical Care and Referrals to ART Centers and AAU were also refreshed with the participants. The workshop ended with certificate distribution and vote of thanks from participants who were of the view that the skills and knowledge they gained and refreshed will go a long way in helping them properly manage and monitor program activities.
