The 5th District AIDS Council Meeting was held on October 24, 2023, in Faisalabad, and was organised by Nai Zindagi Trust CoPC+ in collaboration with the District Administration of Faisalabad. M. Irfan began the gathering by reciting passages from the Holy Quran.The conference was presided over by District Coordination Officer (DCO) Abdullah Nayar Sheikh, who was joined by senior district and NZT officials including as Dr. Asfand Yar (DHA CEO), Dr. Saleem Tahir Harral (DMS admin Allied Hospital), Arshad Ali Alvi (DSP/HQ Faisalabad), and Ahmad Irfan (Deputy Director SE). Dr. Mubashar Malik, Punjab Province Coordinator; Muhammad Imran, District Coordination Pakistan Manager;and Ramzan Ali, Site Manager, CoPC+ Faisalabad, representing NaiZindagiTrust.During the conference, NaiZindagi Trust executives highlighted essential actions, performance, and service delivery in Faisalabad up until October 2023 in order to reduce HIV transmission among people who inject drugs (PWIDs).Abdullah Nayar Sheikh, the DCO, and representatives from other departments praised the Nai Zindagi Trust’s work and pledged their support for ongoing HIV prevention initiatives. DC, along with CEO Health Faisalabad, express their views about the importance of this platform for information exchange, collaboration, acknowledgment of contributions and way forward to HIV prevention in Faisalabad.
